Terms of Service

In short: TaxSquid helps you track eBay reselling income, expenses, and mileage for tax purposes. It is not a substitute for professional tax, legal, or financial advice. You're responsible for the accuracy of your data and for how you use it when filing taxes.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using TaxSquid, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

TaxSquid is a mobile application that helps eBay resellers track sales, fees, inventory, mileage, and estimated tax deductions. Features include:

  • Syncing sales and fee data from your connected eBay account.
  • Manually logging transactions, inventory, and expenses.
  • Tracking business mileage, including optional GPS-based auto-tracking.
  • Generating summary reports formatted around IRS Schedule C for your own reference.

3. Not Tax, Legal, or Financial Advice

TaxSquid is a record-keeping and estimation tool. It is not a tax preparation service, and nothing in the app constitutes tax, legal, financial, or accounting advice.

  • Calculations shown in the app — including mileage deductions, home office deductions, and estimated net taxable income — are estimates based on the information you provide and general IRS guidelines. They may not reflect your actual tax liability.
  • IRS rules, standard mileage rates, and deduction limits change over time. You are responsible for confirming that any rate or rule used in the app (including the default IRS standard mileage rate) is current and accurate for your tax year before filing.
  • You should consult a licensed CPA, tax preparer, or attorney before making tax filing decisions based on information from TaxSquid.
  • TaxSquid is not responsible for any penalties, interest, audits, or other consequences resulting from your use of the app's estimates or exported reports.

4. Account Registration & Security

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. eBay Integration

  • Connecting your eBay account is optional. If you connect it, you authorize TaxSquid to access read-only sales, fee, and order data via eBay's official API, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • TaxSquid is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay Inc. "eBay" is a trademark of eBay Inc., used here only to describe compatibility with their platform.
  • eBay's own data may occasionally be delayed, incomplete, or subject to eBay's own API limitations, which are outside TaxSquid's control.

6. Your Data & Content

  • You retain ownership of the data you enter into TaxSquid, including manually entered transactions, inventory records, and settings.
  • By using the app, you grant TaxSquid a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely to provide the app's functionality to you.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of any data you manually enter. TaxSquid does not independently verify user-entered amounts, dates, or categorizations.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

If TaxSquid offers paid features or subscriptions, additional terms will apply at the time of purchase, including pricing, billing frequency, and renewal terms. Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies. This section will be updated once paid features are introduced.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use TaxSquid for any unlawful purpose or in violation of eBay's own terms of service.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to TaxSquid's systems or other users' data.
  • Use the app to store or transmit data you do not have the right to use.

9. Intellectual Property

TaxSquid's name, logo, design, and underlying software are the property of the app's developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to TaxSquid's branding or source code beyond your personal, non-commercial use of the app itself.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

TaxSquid is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaxSquid and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

You may stop using TaxSquid at any time and may request deletion of your account and data as described in our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above whenever changes are made. Continued use of TaxSquid after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
